How to read a certificate of analysis

01
Check the lab
Look for ISO-17025 accreditation on the report letterhead. This means the testing lab itself is independently audited — a meaningful distinction.
02
Heavy metals panel
Lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic each have a listed limit. Compare the “Result” column against the “Limit” column — lower is better.
03
Microbial panel
Covers yeast, mold, E. coli, and salmonella. Results should read absent or below the listed limits for each.
04
Match your batch
The batch number on the report should match what’s printed on your product. A single generic report covering all batches isn’t meaningful.
